Home-Insurance

A home insurance policy provides protection against most things that could go wrong in the home. Destruction of the home or damage to it would be covered by the policy, as would the theft of objects from within the home. Some policies would cover the cost of replacing locks if the home-owners keys were stolen. Accidental damage to personal possessions within the home is often included in a home insurance policy. For the purposes of coverage, gardens are usually considered part of the home and thus damage or the theft of objects from within the garden would normally be covered.

Some home insurance policies will compensate for the loss of the home or damage to it through natural disasters like earthquakes, tornadoes or volcanic eruptions.

Most home insurance policies will place limits on the maximum value that will reimbursed for each item lost or damaged, or each circumstance in which the policy pays out. In some cases, if people have particularly valuable personal possessions, such as expensive jewellery, whose value exceeds this limit, they will be able to pay an extra amount to receive more comprehensive cover.

Many home insurance policies will also provide coverage for loss or damage to items while the householder is moving house.
