Prevent Roaches

Roaches are nasty, dirty little bugs that carry germs and leave behind trials of waste. Prevention is much easier than elimination when it comes to bugs. Elimination is only part of the battle, once they are gone measures need to be taken prevent them from coming back.

Clean

Keeping the home as clean as possible is a major deterrent in preventing roaches. They will seek out food and water and if they can’t find it they won’t stick around. Dust, vacuum, and clean cabinets often to keep anything they might eat out of the way. Seal food in plastic containers, keep the dog food bowls empty between feedings and monitor these areas for any sign for roaches.

Water

Roaches love water which is what makes the bathroom and kitchen their favorite places to migrate to. Even dampness can draw roaches, not just actual water. Roaches need water even more than they need food. Make sure there are not leaks under cabinets or around faucets and keep water wiped up after showers and baths. For particularly damp areas consider investing in a dehumidifier.

No Holes, No Entrances

Roaches can gain access through any crack, crevice or corner that find. Caulk them to stop any entrance that they can use to get in the house. Look around and try envisioning being a bug looking for a way to get inside. If it even seems feasible for a roach to get in, find a way to caulk them shut.
Once the house has been thoroughly inspected for entranceways and food and water sources have been eliminated move on to preventing them from piggybacking their way into the house.

Roaches can get into a home by catching a ride on objects that are coming in. Paper bags are one source that they love to hide in. Toss out collections of paper bags or store them outside and check them thoroughly before using.
If household items, such as holiday decorations, are stored in an outside storage shed, make sure the storage shed has been sprayed for bugs. Once the needed items are brought out of the store shed should be opened outside the house to make sure there are no bugs in the containers.

Sprays and Powders

Even the best preventative measures can’t keep a determined roach from getting in the houses. As a backup plan it is a good idea to put out roach powder where they might even attempt to get in. If they do manage to get in and walk through the powder they will carry it back to their nests and poison the whole family.

Another option is the roach motels. Keeping one underneath stoves, cabinets and sinks is another good backup option. Roaches are attracted to the chemicals inside the roach motel and once inside they are unable to get back out.

Prevention is always easier than elimination. Inspect the house for any methods of entry, seal them up and maintain cleanliness in order to prevent roaches from moving in.

Certain Fungi, Bacteria and viruses are also pests. Bed bug is also a pest which belong top family of cimicidae and it feeds on the blood of warm blooded hosts. Neem Oil is used to control bed bug as it is insect repellent and now the US FOOD AND DRUG ADMINISTRATION has approved its external use.

Pest Control is very necessary for human to survive on the earth to protect itself, its crops livestock, homes, furniture and much more.

Pest control can be done in various ways. Some of the methods are :

Poisoned Bait :- It has been a common method for centuries to kill pests ,wolves and birds that seem to threaten crops.

Elimination of breeding grounds :- Garbage is the home of pests as it provides them food and shelter so proper waste management & drainage services can eliminate the problem.

Field Burning :- It is practice in which fields are burned to kill any insects or their eggs before sowing seeds of a new crop.

Hunting ,Traps , Elimination of damaged plants and Poison Spray are also methods of pest control.

Sterilization :- It is modern effective method to sterilize soil and is called Soil steaming. We also do a similar practice in our homes for preservation of milk for a longer time .this is called partial sterilization.

Use of repellents :- It is also a modern method to fight with the pest.

Use of insecticides :- Chemical Pest control is also done to kill insects and pest. The known insecticides are DDT, Chlorinated hydrocarbons, herbicides and etc..

With the growing Technology there are different means of pest control but we should move with the means which are eco-friendly.
